Conner Middelmann
I'm a nutritionist specializing in the Modern Mediterranean Diet; most of my clients are affected by metabolic syndrome and/or cancer.
I have written a book ("Zest for Life: The Mediterranean Anti-Cancer Diet") and work as a cancer nutrition educator at Boulder Community Health (BCH).
I have also developed the dietary protocol for a 9-month "Lifestyle as Medicine" pilot study for people with metabolic syndrome. The study, a collaboration of BCH and CU Boulder, comprises three elements: Modern Mediterranean diet, Movement and Mindfulness practice ("the three M's"). It kicked off in January 2019.
The Modern Mediterranean diet comprises all that's great about the traditional Mediterranean diet (healthy fats, low-glycemic carbs, plant foods rich in fiber, antioxidant and antiinflammatory compounds, etc.) while eschewing the unhealthy foods associated with Mediterranean cuisine (refined grains, pizza, pasta, bread, sugar).
I work part-time at an internal medicine practice in Denver (Colorado Center for Medical Excellence) and mostly for my own business, Modern Mediterranean, LLC. I see clients at my offices in Boulder and Denver and via video conferencing. To see my blog and services, go to www.modernmediterranean.com.
